Greetings Edheads-Online

We're coming off a tremendous run of dates in February, from NC to NY, from TX to IA/MN/WI, and nothing could top our wonderful pairing with good friends, Lowen & Navarro (Eddie & Mike even got a chance to be their rhythm section for a number of songs each night). Thanks to all who attended, and March promises to be every bit as ambitious a month. Just look at the schedule. Even when we're off on Easter weekend, you'll see Robbie and Eddie filling the holes with their side projects.

Winner of the Cecil B. DeMille Media Deprivation Award goes to our own Julie, whose only wish was to NOT learn the results of the Oscars until she saw the Tivo'ed show for herself upon her Monday return home. This news-lockout involved averting eye contact from all print and electronic coverage and tuning out any broadcast announcements. From the USA Today at her hotel door step, to the CNN blaring in the airport terminal, to an anonymous band mate's finger-writing "Million Dollar Hillary" in the snow on the rental vehicle's windshield, Ms. Julie was too determined with her repeated "Peas and Rice... Peas and Rice" mantra and index fingers jammed in her ears. The horse blinders were a nice touch, too. Congratulations are also in order for her near-perfect journal entry Oscar predictions. We'll be more careful with our Sunday night show bookings in the future.

SPECIAL HOMETOWN APPEARANCE AT JAMMIN' JAVA in Vienna, Virginia
Wednesday, March 9 (2 Shows) - tickets are moving fast!

One of our favorite additions to the Northern Virginia live music scene has been Vienna's Jammin Java. Not only have they served as the "go-to" venue for our own Robbie Schaefer and his solo shows, they have also been the premier showcase stop for many of our national touring contemporaries. What Jammin' Java has provided has been what our area has desperately needed for years: a 150-200 capacity seated/listening venue for the singer-songwriter scene. In addition to nurturing fertile local talent (with their open mic nights), they also feature many of our fellow performing friends like Ellis Paul, Mark Erelli, Stephen Kellogg, The Kennedys, Vance Gilbert, Christine Kane, Fred Eaglesmith, Eliza Gilkyson, Tracy Grammer, Dan Bern, Jeff Lang to name a few (and almost nightly!).

Any Northern Virginian knows the staggering cost of living and real estate in the area. The challenges that face the small business owners in our high rent region can be overwhelming. The wonderful Brindley family who took on JJ three years ago have done a miraculous job resurrecting a near-collapsed operation. We can't think of many folks who have worked as hard as they have to support our live music scene, but some recent unexpected expenses have proven almost insurmountable.

We want to keep Java Jammin, and invite you to join us for a special intimate EFO show at this wonderful venue on March 9. There will be two shows (7PM and 9:30PM), and all proceeds will go to help the good folks at Jammin Java. Advance tickets are strongly recommended. Call Jammin Java at 703-255-1566. Joining us will be our good friend, Ellis Paul.

EDHEAD CHAT IS UP AND RUNNING AGAIN

In addition to this monthly email list, there is also a discussion group for Edheads to chat with one another, swap recipes, bash various band members, compare fantasies, and blog like there's no tomorrow. The service has been down for a little while, but the problem has been recently corrected.

HOW TO SUBSCRIBE:
All you do is send an e-mail to edheads-request@efohio.com and write 'subscribe' in the text (not the subject field - that won't work).
Confirmation will be sent back to you (a safe-guard against unsavory Internet practices), simply send the confirmation back.
HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE:
Just e-mail edheads-request@efohio.com and write 'unsubscribe' in the text.

NEW EFO FASHIONS ON THE HORIZON

Recently, our EFO Merchandise Department has gone hog-wild ordering new lines of Eddie from Ohio apparel. Soon, you could be the proud owner of the new Eddie from Ohio pullover hooded sweatshirt, and, in the spirit of the America's Favorite Past-time, Eddie from Ohio baseball shirts will be available (in Boys & Girls designs). Hopefully, within the early part of the month, we hope to have these items available at all our shows. Internet sales have yet to be determined, but we'll keep you posted. You're gonna love the new swag! Inspector 7 in our EFO Assembly Line definitely gives her thumbs up.

"GREAT DAY" NOW AVAILABLE IN SHEET MUSIC FORM

Attention all you choral directors, church pastors, and any other folks who’ve been asking "Where can I get the sheet music for Great Day?" Well, Julie’s finally had it transcribed correctly in SATB format well it’s more like STTB (Mike hates being referred to as an Alto). If you are interested in a copy, please send your request along with $5.00 (made payable to Eddie from Ohio) to: Eddie from Ohio, PO Box 7431, McLean VA 22106 Attn: Great Day Sheet Music. Please include your proper mailing address.

FOURTH EDHEAD CRUISE - NOV 2-7 TAMPA TO COZUMEL

The Fourth Edhead Cruise is still set for November 3 through Nov 7, leaving from Tampa FL, sailing to Cozumel and back. Details are posted at fanclub cruises site.
