First, we had a sellout three date run at our hometown haunt, The Birchmere. Having been away for more than a year and half, it was great to be back on the big stage. It was a chance to pull out old stuff, and debut some newbies. Thanks to all who attended. It's always wonderful to play home. After 48 hours rest, we shoved off for New Orleans, our point of departure for the Third Edhead Cruise. Since so many hit the departure town the night before in past cruises, we thought it would be a great opportunity for a "kick-off" concert. Are we ever glad we did -- and the Wednesday evening House of Blues show was a fantastic way to get acquainted and polluted all at the same time. The Cruise itself boasted our highest attendance ever. For a more in-depth review, check with Robbie's journal entry on the main page of our website, http://www.efohio.com. Last weekend's "almost hometown" shows in Charlottesville, VA and Owings Mills, MD were good ways to get our land legs back, and to purge the sailor talk from our vocabulary. "AAaaaarrrrrrr!" It's gonna be tough to top all these great performance moments, but we're sure gonna try -- starting this weekend at the Sellersville Theater, north of Philadelphia in Sellersville, PA. Be sure to fast on Friday after your big Thursday feasts, as the neighboring Washington House next to the theater served us one of the finest meals we've ever had during our last visit. In December, we have a run of dates through the Empire State (New York City, Troy, then Rochester - details below). Our final performances of 2003 will be, fittingly, in our beloved Commonwealth of Virginia (Staunton & Ashland). Be sure to secure advance tickets for these shows (details below). Robbie will close out the year with three solo shows (Charlottesville & Vienna), the last two will be part of a live recording for an upcoming CD - (again, details below). What a year... 2003. Time, once again, for the Annual Virginia Soul Records Christmas Party - where the CEOs of our Huge Mega Major Record label convene with Shareholders and Premier Retail & Media Account Reps for spiked eggnog and Administrative Aid buttocks-Xeroxing. This year's black tie gala will either be in the lobby of the Ritz-Carlton, complete with an enormous dolphin ice sculpture, string quartet followed by a swing band, open bar, and sit-down Prime Rib/Lobster dinner, proceeded by a 2003 Awards Ceremony, including a Keynote Address from a yet-to-be disclosed renown Athlete-turned-Motivational Speaker, capped by a visit from a certain jolly man in a bright red suit with a little something for the wee ones OR we may just opt for the Sizzler. Haven't decided. "SOPHISTICATED LADY" IS BACK Julie's beloved collection of jazz standards (recorded live at the Birchmere several years ago with an ace combo) has been out of print for a while, but it's back in circulation by popular demand. Look for "SL" at upcoming EFO shows or by visiting our on line retail outlet http://www.bulletproofstore.com ROBBIE TO RECORD IN DECEMBER Robbie has re-scheduled his live recording dates at Jammin Java in Vienna, VA for December 20 & 21 (the last attempt was unfortunately pushed back by the relentless Hurricane Isabel).
