Greetings from the road, loyal edheads! It was a great weekend of shows after being in the studio for a couple of weeks. The CD is going to be great ... I can't wait for everyone to hear it, So, on to the road trip... We drove, you drove. We played, you listened ... Fabulous! Now on to the good stuff! Are we in Michigan or Florida? That was the question we were asking ourselves as we sat in the bar at the Days Inn in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We stumbled across this place called Sully's after an early show with WCYE in G.R. (Thanks for having us!) It was a small bar with a man and woman duo playing keys, guitar, fake bass and fake drums to Lynard skynard, Neil Diamond and so on. They weren't bad ... They were a lot like the duo in the movie "Swingers" playing Stayin' Alive, know what I mean? Anyway, that wasn't the only entertainment. It turns out that a wedding across the street had flowed over to this place. Bride's maid dresses and Tuxedos spread out from the bar to a few tables. It must have been a great wedding because everyone was smashed! We just sat quietly with our drinks soaking in the environment, when all of a sudden ... da-da-dee-da! Here come the Bride and Groom. She looked like she was in her twenties, and he looked like he was in his forties. By this point, the bride was obviously tired of tripping over her dress, so she had it tied up in a big knot around her knees. Very classy! She was drinking as many shots as I would and throwing her fist in the air and screaming her best Arsenio impression, standing on a chair. I don't know what possessed me, but I pulled out a dollar bill and folded it stripper style and started waving it in the air. She noticed me right away and gestured me to come up to her. Not being very shy, I ran right up and placed the bill between her breasts, which she so willingly offered! I turned around to see my band mates laughing in disbelief with cheers from the other bar patrons. By the time I gat back to my seat, I noticed the bride's father encouraging her to get down and not accept any more bills. Well, he should have kept a better eye out for her because Robbie placed a bill on his head. She ran over and snapped it off the top of his head with another war cry, with the bill still in her mouth. Just when you think you've seen it all, here comes Mike with a bill. Not to be outdone, he lays on the floor, face down, sticks the bill between the inseam of his trousers. Well, this bride had no pride! She reached down and snatched it up with another war cry! I'm surprised the dad or the husband didn't see any of this, or they just chose to ignore it. Whichever ... it was still a good time and it gives me a new meaning to the money dance. That's why we were asking ourselves ... Are we in Michigan or Florida!? That's our fun on the road. Thanks for reading and we'll see you at the shows! Take care, Eddie and the gang Dear Edheads, The "Walk to find a Cure", held on May 16, 2004, was a huge success. The weather started out sketchy...drizzling a bit and cloudy, but when it was time to actually start walking, the skies opened up and the sun started to shine! "Bubba's Buddies" were there in full force. We had 52 adults, many many wee ones, and 2 dogs! We carried signs, we cheered, we talked, we ate chili afterwards. It was great, and everyone had a good time! Greg and I are overjoyed, honored, and extremely thankful for all of the generous donations that have been sent to us and donated on-line on Corey's behalf and on behalf of all the young people who suffer from juvenile diabetes. When we started our campaign this year, we set a goal of trying to raise $20,000. We both new it was ambitious, but we knew the more money raised, the closer the JDRF would be to a finding a cure. I am so pleased to say that as of today, June 9th, "Bubba's Buddies" has raised over $22,000, and monies are still coming in! (they have kept the donation line open until June 16th). The Edhead community alone, was responsible for over $7000.00!! YOur outpouring of support is still unbelievable to us and a mere thank you just doesn't seem to say enough. Please accept our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who sent money, prayers, special notes, and love. We are grateful for your support. You have been such a comfuort to us and helped tremendously in coping with Corey's illness. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives. Thank you again, and God Bless, Julie, Greg, Liam, and Corey
