Greetings, EDHEADS!!

Our hearts are still heavy over last week's tragedy in Blacksburg, VA. To say that it hits home would be a dramatic understatement. Julie's Alma Mater, Virginia Tech and the town of Blacksburg have been host to so many EFO shows since our very beginnings that we've lost count. From frat basements, to campus events, to unforgettable rowdy shows at Pedro's and South Main Cafe, to even most recently as December at the Lyric Theater. We love Virginia Tech! Julie's memories go back even further to her undergrad days as an R.A. in the now infamous Ambler-Johnston Hall.

Our sympathies, our condolences, and our love are pointed right toward Southwest Virginia and to the thousand points of the Hokie Nation abroad. Go, Tech, go!

We could not have been more honored than being reached by the University over the weekend seeking permission to use our music for their website's video tribute.
Parts of "Walk Humbly Son" are used to accompany powerful and poignant images of the past week. Please click this link to view this moving video:

God Bless VA Tech.

We look forward to May as month for healing and positive memories. Julie and Robbie's birthdays are here (4/24 & 5/26, respectively), and we're overjoyed to celebrate our namesake's and ace percussionist's big wedding day in the middle of the month.
Sorry, ladies, Eddie's officially taken.

ROBBIE HOPS ABOARD XM RADIO -- AS A DJ!

Robbie recently performed a kids show live on XM Satellite Radio. They liked him so much, they offered him a job as a DJ! He's been on the air for over a week now, has his own theme song, plays cool stuff, and fields phone calls from crazy children from all over the country -- GET TO KNOW HIM!

His show on XMKiDS, called "Robbie Schaefer's Stuck In A Real Tall Tree"
airs live Monday-Thursday 7-11pm EST (4-8pm PST)
and Saturday 10am-2pm EST (7-11am PST) on XM 116

The XM Kids Traveling Road Show will happen this month, and Robbie will be scaling down his tree to participate.

JULIE'S BUBBA'S BUDDIES CELEBRATES 5 YEARS! (A NOTE FROM JULIE)

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 5 years since our son Corey, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes - and once again, Greg and I are gearing up "Bubba’s Buddies", our team of family and friends, to participate in JDRF’s Walk to Find a Cure, held on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at 10am in Washington DC. Over the past 5 years, "Bubba’s Buddies", has raised over $70,000 and this year we’ve set a hefty fundraising goal of $20,000.
To find out more information about the Walk or making a donation - please go to http://walk.jdrf.org/walker.cfm?id=86654802.

In addition to the JDRF walk, I will be taking part for the second year, in the Susan Komen, Race for the Cure - to be held on Saturday, June 2 in Washington DC. I will be walking with Team Heather - a team founded in honor of Heather Gardner Starcher. Heather was the sister of my good friend Shawn Gardner. She unfortunately lost her battle with breast cancer, in 2002, at the young age of 26. You can visit my website and find out more information about the walk, or making a donation at the follwing link.
